Recently we soft launched WP Email Capture 3.3.1 for both free & premium versions.

We normally don’t publish blog posts about minor updates, but feel for this one needed a blog post, as it’s a pretty major update.

It isn’t a security update, but fixes a pretty major bug – particularly if you use something like Gravity Forms.

In short, any emails that get sent through your site on version 3.3 get displayed as full HTML tags, rather than output as proper HTML. So bold text, would displayed as <strong>bold text</strong> rather than bold text. This can lead to problems if you use Gravity Forms or Contact Form 7, as emails from them won’t be rendered correctly.

This was discovered, and fixed within 2 days.

Props to sbernado and Ov3rfly on the WordPress.org forums who helped discover this bug.
